NDC Vice Presidential Candidate Promises to End Double-Track System in Secondary Schools

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice Presidential candidate, has pledged to abolish the double-track system currently in use in Ghana’s secondary schools.

Speaking during her campaign in Gbiniyiri, she criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for failing to resolve the issues surrounding the system, which was introduced under the Free Senior High School policy.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed confidence in the NDC’s plan to phase out the system, citing past successes in eliminating the shift system at the basic school level.

She contrasted the NDC’s comprehensive approach to the NPP’s perceived lack of solutions, urging voters to support the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, to bring about the necessary changes in the education sector.

According to her, the NDC is ready to address the root causes of the double-track system, including expanding school infrastructure, which the NPP has failed to address.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assured that the NDC’s leadership would prioritize the education sector, ensuring a brighter future for students and offering transformative solutions to the current challenges.
