PTA Supports BIHECO with GH₵40,000 Worth of Desks

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Bishop Herman College, Kpando (BIHECO), has donated 102 mono desks worth approximately GH₵40,000 to the school to help address the ongoing classroom furniture deficit.

Presenting the desks on Friday, May 16, PTA Chairman Seth Kwame Kpedor said the gesture aims to provide a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for students.

“We recognise the need for a conducive learning environment in the school, and the donation is meant to address that need to some extent,” he said.

Mr. Kpedor added that the PTA remains committed to supporting the school and revealed plans to complete the ground floor of a two-storey, 12-unit, two-bedroom staff quarters within the year.

Headmaster Francis Kudolo, who received the desks, expressed gratitude to the PTA, describing the donation as both timely and essential.

“The second-year students are currently using the available desks for their end-of-semester examinations; the third-year students would have faced challenges if we had not received these desks,” he noted.

He pledged proper maintenance of the desks to ensure their durability.

Mr. Kudolo also acknowledged a recent donation of 40 desks by the Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga. He appealed to the school’s alumni and the general public for further support, stating that the school still needs 800 desks to meet growing enrolment demands.

He further announced that a sod-cutting ceremony would soon be held for the reconstruction of the school’s main gate, a project sponsored by the American Chapter of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU). The cost of the project was not disclosed.
