Constance Fati Blankson, a 56-year-old Ghanaian woman, has made headlines for enrolling in Senior High School (SHS) at 55. In a recent interview with High School Africa, she shared her motivation and experiences.
“I like to crack jokes, so my husband thought of it as one of those jokes. By the time he realised, I had my uniforms and informed him that I was starting school,” Constance explained.
Notably, her son was her classmate in Junior High School (JHS). As a student of Huni Valley SHS, Constance expressed gratitude to her fellow students and teachers for their support.
“I do not perform chores; the students, most of whom call me Auntie Connie, sometimes make me shy; they do everything for me.”
Constance encouraged others, “Do not be discouraged by what people will say. Go for it.” Her determination has inspired many, with the video garnering over 4,000 likes and 40 comments. Social media users praised Constance, with @paakwakutenkorang5773 commenting, “This AWESOME QUEEN deserves a NATIONAL AWARD. Look at her humility, eloquence and intelligence I looooove her.”
