Ghana Education Service Interdicts Two Headteachers Over Unauthorized Activities

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken disciplinary action against two headteachers, Nadia Lartechoe Annan of O’Reilly Senior High School and Patience Naki Mensah of Ghana Senior High School, over allegations of unauthorized activities.

The headteachers have been directed to step aside pending investigations into the collection of unauthorized monies and the sale of items to Form One students.

According to the GES, Nadia Lartechoe Annan’s actions violated the school’s code of conduct, prompting the Regional Education Office of Greater Accra to issue a letter dated December 6th, 2023, stating, “It has come to the notice of Management, the collection of unauthorized monies at O’Reilly Senior High School as part of the admission process.

“Based on the above and as the code of conduct stipulates, you are to step aside for an investigation to be conducted.”

Similarly, Patience Naki Mensah was asked to step aside with effect from December 7th, 2023, following allegations of the unauthorized sale of ceremonial cloth, tracksuits, and other items to Form One students.

The letter dated December 7th, 2023, emphasizes the need for further investigation, stating, “It has come to the notice of Management of Ghana Education Service that there is an unauthorized sale of the following items to the Form One students reporting to school: ceremonial cloth – GH¢200, tracksuits – GH¢250.
