“I Did My Best for Ghana” – Former President Akufo-Addo Reveals

In a heartfelt address during a thanksgiving mass at Accra Ridge Church, former President Nana Akufo-Addo emphasized his government’s dedication to development and equality.

Reflecting on his two terms in office, he highlighted the long-term impact of his policies in key areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, digital transformation, and environmental protection.

Akufo-Addo expressed confidence that while the full benefits of his administration’s efforts may take time to be fully realized, history will recognize their significance.

He cited major achievements such as strengthening national security amid growing terrorism threats, revitalizing the economy, and enhancing Ghana’s global standing.

He also underscored the promotion of tourism and Ghana’s role in the ECOWAS integration and the broader African community. Despite acknowledging the inevitable criticism that comes with leadership, Akufo-Addo stood firm in his belief that he had served the country to the best of his ability.

“Despite what the naysayers say, I did my best for Ghana,” he stated, proud of his presidency’s legacy. The Thanksgiving Mass also honored his leadership, resilience, and contributions to the Anglican Church in Ghana.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, the Anglican Bishop of Accra, presented a citation recognizing the significant progress made in education, economic development, and industrialization during Akufo-Addo’s presidency.
