Israeli Ambassador Designate, Wife Pay Visit to Jewish Education Centres in Ghana

The Israeli Ambassador-designate to Ghana, Roey Gilad, along with his wife, Nitza Gilad, Head of Culture and Public Diplomacy, visited the Project TEN center in Winneba, Central Region, on Tuesday.

The visit allowed Ambassador Gilad and Mrs. Gilad to gain insight into the activities at the Project TEN centre, which is part of a global Jewish service-learning initiative.

This program, run both in Israel and other countries, focuses on promoting Jewish values and community engagement, which is also aimed at promoting a dialogue on Jewish identity among volunteers.

During their tour, H.E. Roey Gilad and Mrs. Nitza Gilad met with Israeli volunteers and visited various sites where Project TEN is active, including Synclaire School, C.O.C. School, HHVF Day Care for Special Children, and Don Bosco School for children with disabilities.

The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the centre’s team, stating, “The embassy is proud of the impactful work they are doing in the community.”

Project TEN welcomes individuals with a passion for education and healthcare to contribute to its initiatives.

Volunteers work with local schools, leading morning activities that encourage student empowerment.

The organisation also hosts regular seminars for local teachers, sharing educational techniques to strengthen the local educational community.

As part of their commitment to sustainable practices, Project TEN has established two farms within local schools.

These farms introduce students to advanced agricultural techniques, such as irrigation, greenhouse farming, composting, and recycling, fostering environmental responsibility among the youth.

The Ambassador’s visit portrays the ongoing collaboration between Project TEN and local institutions.
