KNUST Rolls Out Elaborate Plan to Welcome Fresh Students

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has outlined an elaborate arrangement to receive prospective first-year students, ensuring a seamless transition from home to campus life.

According to Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, University Relations Officer, the plan covers all official entry points for both local and foreign students, making them feel comfortable upon arrival.

“All of us will be at vantage points to receive them. The University’s forensic system will be helping them to go through the registration process once they arrive. So far, all our systems have been tested and ready to receive them,” he assured.

The university has also made arrangements for residential accommodation, ensuring that every officially admitted student gets a place to reside according to their budget.

Additionally, a robust security plan is in place to protect students, involving both state and internal security setups.

Dr. Bekoe noted that the university has systems in place to cater to the mental, emotional, and psychological needs of students, including institutional, voluntary, and peer counselors.

The university has also written to transport operators to ensure that drivers treat students with care and adhere to road safety regulations.

The elaborate plan aims to guarantee a seamless transition for fresh students, helping them adjust to campus life.

KNUST has a reputation as Ghana’s foremost tertiary educational institution in science, technology, and engineering, attracting local and foreign students.
