NDC NEC Member Earns MSc in Management from University of Florida

Lawyer Wonder Victor Kutor, a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has earned a Master of Science degree in Management from the University of Florida in the United States.

The graduation ceremony was held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida. Kutor was among 250 graduates, a group that included many students from across the United States and Europe.

His accomplishment is notable given his demanding commitments, which involved frequent travel between Ghana and the United States.

As a lawyer and a former Student Representative Council (SRC) president of the Ghana School of Law, Kutor plans to use his new academic credentials to serve both his political party and his country.

The NDC recently secured a significant victory in the 2024 elections, claiming an overwhelming majority in Parliament. In a telephone interview, Kutor expressed his satisfaction with achieving this milestone, stating: “It was not easy.

I had to shuttle between the US and Ghana to be able to achieve this. I remember I had to leave campus and fly down to Ghana to attend a crucial NEC meeting in Adabraka. Also, I had to finish the course by October 2024 so I could be in Ghana throughout the final stages of the campaign. This means that I had to do more credit hours within a short period, but I thank God I passed all papers despite the difficulty.”

Kutor also disclosed that he considered deferring the program at one point but managed to persist with the help of his faith:

“At a point, I almost deferred the programme, but I give thanks to the almighty God who is the giver of life and health for the spirit of perseverance and resilience.”

Kutor is an alumnus of the University of Ghana and the University of London, where he studied sociology and law, respectively. He is expected to return to Ghana on Monday, December 16, 2024, to continue working with the NDC as it transitions to governance.

Having played an instrumental role in the NDC’s campaign for the 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential elections, Kutor stressed the importance of resuming his political duties in Ghana.
