Seun Kuti Clarifies Stance on European Colonialism

Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has set the record straight on his views regarding European colonialism.

He reiterated, on his IG page, that he is against the system, not the people.

Kuti, known for his strong stance against imperialism and corruption, explained that his critique of European colonization should not be misinterpreted as hatred for European people.

“I’m against European colonisation and imperialism but that does not mean that I’m against European people,” Kuti stated on his Instagram page.

“Many Europeans have been our allies in the fight against greed and unfair systems, to make the world a fairer place for everyone.”

Kuti stated that being against colonization does not mean being against Europeans, as many have stood in solidarity with Africans in the fight for justice and fairness.

His clarification was seen as a way of promoting a nuanced understanding of his views and foster a more inclusive and equitable world.
