UCC Fresher Shares Concerns About Campus Life After Admission

A viral video of a newly admitted University of Cape Coast (UCC) student discussing his initial reaction to gaining admission has sparked interest on social media.

In the video shared on TikTok by @judyyawa1, the young man admitted feeling apprehensive after learning about some of the demands of UCC’s academic environment.

He explained that interactions with others had shaped his expectations about life on campus.

“I heard a lot about UCC before coming. They said that once you come, you have to go for preps. I was also told that there is tension here. I heard a lot about UCC, and I was really scared,” the student revealed.

Despite his fears, he expressed optimism and a strong determination to excel academically, stating his goal to graduate with a first-class degree.

Another freshman, Emmanuel Mensah, also shared his thoughts on beginning his academic journey at UCC.

He noted the university’s academic reputation and the success of its alumni as key factors influencing his decision to enroll.

“Due to their academic excellence, that was the main reason why I chose UCC, and I have heard a lot of the school. The students of UCC gain job opportunities. That is why I chose to come here,” Emmanuel said.

Some commenters shared their memories of UCC, while others encouraged the freshers to remain focused on their studies.

A user named Yaw Dwarkwaa stated, “University of choice. Preps are not compulsory, but I trust you will go for it. Anyway, congrats. Just learn hard, and the sky will surely be the limit.”
