At the Annual National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama reassured Ghanaians that his administration is committed to providing a stable power supply and preventing the return of frequent power outages, commonly referred to as “dumsor.”
Addressing thousands of attendees in Gomoa Pomadze, near Winneba Junction, Mahama acknowledged the challenges facing the energy sector, including fuel shortages for power plants and delays in the maintenance of the West African Gas Pipeline.
Despite these hurdles, he emphasized that steps are being taken to ensure a reliable electricity supply for the nation.
“We are assuming office at a critical time in our nation’s history. Ghana faces significant challenges, but that is precisely why you elected us. We will take full responsibility for solving these problems and transparently communicate the challenges we face,” Mahama stated.
He encouraged Ghanaians not to lose hope, emphasizing that while power outages are a potential concern, his government is fully committed to addressing these issues.
“You elected us to solve the problems, not to pass blame. I assure you we will ensure your lights stay on,” Mahama assured the public.
As Ghana faces a multitude of challenges, Mahama’s promise to tackle the energy crisis offers hope that the government is actively working to resolve the country’s pressing issues.
