Charlie Dior Criticizes Sam George Over Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill, Urges Focus on Economy

Ghanaian fashion critic and social media personality Charlie Dior has criticized Ningo PramPram MP Sam Nartey George for his strong support of the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill in Ghana.

In a recent interview, Dior argued that there are more pressing issues for the NDC government to address, such as improving the economy, instead of prioritizing the controversial bill.

He dismissed the bill’s relevance, saying, “It doesn’t change the price of kenkey,” referring to the local staple food.

Charlie or also mocked Sam George’s focus on the LGBTQ+ community, suggesting that no gay man would find him attractive, and urged the MP to shift his attention to economic recovery efforts.

The Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill seeks to criminalize LGBTQ+ activities, including their promotion and funding, with penalties ranging from six months to five years in prison.

Supporters like Sam George argue that the bill protects Ghanaian cultural values and sovereignty, but critics warn it could harm human rights and deter foreign investment.
