Conversations parents should be having with their kids daily

The role of parenting is a huge task, so much so that many people fail in their basic responsibilities.

Communications is one the most important aspect of parenting that is lacking in many homes, and is negatively affecting the family happiness.

There are some basic things that help build the confidence of every kid, most especially if it is coming from their parents.

Here are some simple conversations we are suggesting parent should have with their kids daily.

“How was your day?”

This might look simple and easy, but in real sense it is hard to go by. It is very good for the kids, especially if the parents look serious in the question.

But don’t just accept it when the kid say they are fine, always try to do follow up questions like what made it fine? What was the best part of the day? Or even what made you angry or made you laugh or happy? While you are asking the question, try to listen very well, and be observant as you can sense something from their responses.

“Is there anything you’re worried about?”

Sometimes, kids do carry some worries, and some are naturally quit in nature so much so that they can carry their worries for some time, and if you are not careful enough, you will not notice it.

Some of the worries are from friends or school or even you the parents.

So asking them more often will give them the confidence to share with you.

“What did you learn today?”

Learning is a continued process in life, and knowledge is one of the most important thing we will be happy to encourage our kids to have.

However, many parents did not show much interest in the learn curve, even though knowledge goes beyond school.

Encourage to always learn something new if possible every day as it will help them as they grow.

“What are you excited about tomorrow?”

Planning your day is very important aspect of life, however, many people are finding life difficult because they fail to plan.

In as much as you plan your life, encourage your kids to plan their days by frequently asking them to plan for the next day.

It could be encouraging them to plan schedules for birthday party or going out to hang out with friends.

“Do you know how proud I am of you?”

Appreciation and praises are humanly good. Showing acknowledge to efforts of kids are very important to help them grow mentally.

Try telling them that you are noticing their efforts in anything they are doing and you are appreciative of they are doing.

Saying you are proud of them will go a long way in keep to put in more efforts to keep going to make you more proud.

“Is there something you’d like to talk about?”

Asking them if there is anything you want them to discuss with you is another crucial aspect of life that change their thinking.

If you are not discussing with them, they will definitely find another people to discuss with.

The more you ask, the more you understand deeply what they are thinking about life.

“What made you laugh today?”

Laughter is also a health booster, and laughing is a very important aspect of life. It helps your child relive positive emotions and gives you a peek into what tickles their funny bone.

Whether it was a classmate’s joke, a silly moment, or a funny animal video — laughter connects.
