EPL: Gary Neville Advised to Succeed Ruben Amorim at Manchester United

Former “Match of the Day” host, Des Lynam, has called on Manchester United legend Gary Neville to consider returning to management as a replacement for current manager Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

In a column for The Telegraph, Lynam expressed confidence in Neville’s suitability for the job, despite his managerial career ending in March 2016.Lynam wrote, “Neville would still be the best man for the job.

He has Manchester United blood running through his veins. He is deeply hurt by the club’s present predicament.

He has a powerful personality and would be a strong presence in the dressing room.”

He added, “My plea to him was over three years ago but as the men with their furrowed brows took their temporary residence in the United dugout, Neville has remained the best candidate, in my mind.”

Manchester United currently occupies 13th place in the Premier League standings ahead of their upcoming match against Fulham.

Amorim, the club’s current manager, recently admitted that the present team could be one of the weakest in Manchester United’s 147-year history.

Gary Neville, 49, retired as a professional footballer in 2011.

He worked as a coach with Roy Hodgson’s England side for four years before managing Spanish LaLiga team Valencia. However, his tenure at Valencia lasted less than four months, with the team winning only three of their 16 league games under his leadership.

Since then, Neville has enjoyed a successful career as a pundit and businessman.

Despite his limited managerial experience, Lynam believes Neville’s deep connection with Manchester United makes him the ideal candidate to restore the club’s fortunes.
