Mahama Amazed By Huge Turnout At Kumasi Rally

Former President John Dramani Mahama was astonished by the massive crowd that welcomed him during his six-day campaign tour in the Ashanti Region.

On December 1, 2024, thousands of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters filled the streets for the “Enti Asanteman Aseda Ni” walk, aimed at advocating for a change in government and influencing the region’s voting pattern ahead of the December 7 elections.

The rally ended at Kumasi’s Jubilee Park, where Mahama, overwhelmed by the turnout, exclaimed, “Am I dreaming? Somebody should wake me up. Is this Kumasi? Is this Asanteman?” His remarks reflected his surprise and the significance of the event.

The campaign began with a visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace. Following the rally, Mahama engaged with local communities and held mini-campaign events in constituencies such as Offinso North, Offinso South, Atwima Nwabiagya North, and Atwima Mponua.

The enthusiastic response in Kumasi, a stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), signals growing support for Mahama and the NDC in the region.
