Parliament Approves Over GH₵68 Billion For The First Quarter Of 2025

On January 2, 2025, Ghana’s Parliament approved a total of GH₵68.13 billion for the first quarter of 2025.

This amount will be allocated across various sectors of the economy from January to March.

The mini-budget for 2025 outlines several key expenditures, including GH₵16.46 billion for employee compensation, GH₵3.12 billion for goods and services, and GH₵20.69 billion for interest payments.

Other allocations include GH₵45.5 million for subsidies, GH₵9.19 billion for grants to government units, and GH₵234.7 million for social benefits.

Additionally, GH₵5.29 billion is earmarked for other government expenses. The total expenditure for the first quarter is GH₵64.51 billion.

Further allocations include GH₵2.35 billion for clearing arrears and GH₵1.28 billion for amortisation. The total expenditure for the period, in advance of appropriation, stands at GH₵68.13 billion.
