Union Ghana Emerges Champions of Inaugural University of Ghana Community Games

Union Ghana, a men’s group from the University of Ghana campus, made history by clinching the maiden University of Ghana Community Games football title. 

Held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, the thrilling event showcased exceptional skill, unity and sportsmanship. 

Eight teams participated in the tournament, divided into two groups. Union Ghana dominated Group A, remaining unbeaten and securing a final slot. 

The final match against University of Ghana Alumni Association ended 1-1, with Union Ghana winning 4-3 in penalty kicks. Union Ghana captain Richard Agala expressed joy. 

The captain was quoted as saying, “This victory means so much to us. It’s not just about the trophy; it’s about showing the strength of our community and the hard work we’ve put in.” 

The successful event, organised by the University of Ghana Sports & Wellness Directorate and produced by RITE SPORTS, was supported by GT Bank and Warrior King Watches. 

The University of Ghana Sports Directorate anticipates an exciting league commencing February 1, 2025.
