Visually Impaired Brothers Receive Support From Sung Biela Foundation

The Sung Biela Foundation has provided vital assistance to two visually impaired brothers, Moses Adakudugu and Awini Adakudugu, from the Binduri district in the Upper East region.

The foundation has committed to supporting Moses, a 25-year-old University of Ghana student, in his pursuit of higher education, while also helping Awini, a 32-year-old Junior High School graduate, establish a weaving business from their home.

Born with visual impairments, the brothers faced significant challenges growing up. However, their lives began to change when Moses connected with Hajia Zenabu Awinbe Salifu, the founder of the Sung Biela Foundation.

Moses has since gained access to education, while Awini has been empowered to create a sustainable livelihood for himself.

Moses expressed his gratitude to Hajia Zenabu, saying, “I truly appreciate her support and pray for her long life so she can continue to assist people like us.”

He also stated, “She has given me a scholarship through her foundation. Long live the foundation.”

The foundation provided Moses with a comprehensive support package, including a laptop, white cane, financial grant, and essential food items, to ensure his comfort and success at the university.

Awini, who received 5,000 cedis to start his craft business, is now creating durable and weather-resistant items such as nylon chairs, tables, and door mats.

He is also opening his doors to others who wish to learn the craft, saying, “Vulnerable people like me can come and learn the craft so that it can develop and grow bigger, as it can only expand through the efforts of others.”

Another visually impaired student, Azumah Oswin, has also received support from the foundation. Azumah, who lost his sight while in school, expressed his gratitude, saying, “May the Good Lord bless her, protect her and never let her lack.” Hajia Zenabu attributed the foundation’s positive impact to the ongoing contributions of its generous donors, emphasizing that the true beauty of life lies in collective efforts to support those facing hardships.
