Anthony Joshua appointed sport ambassador in Nigeria

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has appointed former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua as the state’s Sports Ambassador.

This announcement was made during Joshua’s visit to the governor’s office in Abeokuta, where he was honored for his achievements and contributions to sports.

In addition to the ambassadorship, Joshua will light the torch at the upcoming National Sports Festival, rescheduled for May 2025.

The governor also revealed plans to construct an indoor boxing ring named after Joshua in Abeokuta and offered him a new house in Sagamu, emphasizing the state’s pride in his accomplishments and commitment to sports developments.
