Dancehall Queen Spice Donates To Three Schools In Accra To Support Education

On Friday, Grammy-nominated dancehall star Spice, whose real name is Grace Latoya Hamilton, made a generous contribution to three schools in Accra, Ghana.

The donation was made in partnership with the MYO Global Foundation, benefiting La Anglican 1 Junior High School, La Anglican 2 Junior High School, and Anglican AME A Primary School, all located in the La Dade Kotopon Municipality.

The donations included school uniforms, designer school shoes to encourage better attendance, whiteboards for classrooms, hygiene supplies, nutritional snacks, and a cash donation to further support the schools.

During the visit, Spice shared her personal journey from growing up in Old Briton, Jamaica, to becoming an internationally recognized artist. She emphasized how education played a key role in her success.

“Education opened doors for me that I never imagined possible. It’s important that we invest in these young minds and provide them with the tools they need to succeed,” she said.

The donation was met with great appreciation from school officials. Sarah Matey, the Headmistress of La Anglican Basic School, expressed her gratitude, saying the support would help students stay focused in class and boost their confidence.

“This will help our students focus better in school and motivate them to learn,” she said.Deborah Opoku Sarfo, Projects Officer at MYO Global Foundation, also highlighted the importance of such initiatives.
