EPL: Jeff Stelling Cautions Chelsea Against Signing Man Utd’s Alejandro Garnacho

Former Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling has advised Chelsea to refrain from pursuing a transfer for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, describing the 20-year-old as “the last thing” the West London club needs at this moment.

Stelling’s comments come in the wake of reports linking Garnacho with a surprising move to Chelsea during this January transfer window, following a period of reduced prominence under United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim.

The Argentine international was notably absent from the squad in United’s recent Premier League derby win over Manchester City.

Despite the growing speculation, Stelling believes that Chelsea is already well-stocked in attacking positions, citing players like Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix, Noni Madueke, and Mykhailo Mudryk.

“There’s a story going around in one or two of the papers this morning,” Stelling said on talkSPORT.

“I normally wouldn’t take any notice of it, but it comes from Fabrizio Romano, who is usually pretty close to the mark with transfers. It’s about Alejandro Garnacho possibly going to Chelsea. With Neto, Madueke, Sancho… surely a Garnacho is the last thing Chelsea need.”

Since making his debut for Manchester United in 2022, Garnacho has appeared in 118 matches for the club, scoring 23 goals.

However, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will heed Stelling’s advice as the January transfer window progresses.
