Canadian-Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs) for her performance in Red Carpet.
The award was presented during the AMAA gala on November 2 in Lagos, Nigeria, marking a significant achievement in her career.Appiah faced strong competition, but her role in Red Carpet ,directed by Frank Rajah Arase and produced by Samis Media’s Samira Yakubu, made her performance stand out.
The film features an impressive cast, including Kalsoume Sinare, Grace Omaboe, and Adjetey Annang.Appiah’s history with the AMAAs began in 2007 when she won Best Supporting Actress for Beyonce. She later won Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2010 for The Perfect Picture and has since been consistently nominated.
Her talent has also earned her numerous awards, including Best Actress at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards and Pan African Actress of the Year at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards.
