Lydia Alhassan Under Fire for Driving Bus Without License During University of Ghana Campaign

Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West, has sparked controversy after driving a bus during her campaign at the University of Ghana campus.

Critics have questioned whether Alhassan has the required driver’s license to operate a bus.

According to Ghanaian laws, a driver must obtain a driver’s license to operate a bus.

However, Alhassan was seen driving a bus transporting students during her campaign, raising concerns about the safety of the students.

“No license but have been given a bus to drive and putting students’ lives at risk,” one person commented, alerting the police to the situation.

Alhassan’s main rival in the polls, John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress, has not commented on the issue.

However, some commenters have suggested that Dumelo would be arrested if he tried a similar campaign strategy.

Alhassan has previously provided free transport to University of Ghana students leaving school.

In April, she provided five buses and snacks to students travelling outside Accra for vacation.

The incident has sparked debate about the qualifications and safety record of politicians engaging in campaign activities.
