Life is gradually returning to normal in Obuasi following Sunday’s clash between military personnel and illegal miners.

The incident, which disrupted schools and other services, led to a temporary shutdown of educational institutions across the town. Some schools have now reopened, though attendance remains low as parents worry about potential reprisals despite the heavy security presence.

Meanwhile, life on the KNUST Obuasi campus is gradually resuming, with students attending lectures to recover lost academic time. However, some students still fear possible reprisals.

“Even though we are safe and attending classes, there’s this lingering fear. I just hope everything ends soon so we can feel secure again,” one student said.
