Travelingwiki Foundation Expands Global Reach with Twi Language Addition

The TravelingWiki Foundation has announced the addition of Twi, its twelfth language, to its free resources.

This development is expected to benefit approximately 4.4 million speakers in Ghana.

The foundation collaborated with Dr. Obed Nii Broohm, Senior Lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and Dr. Rose-Mary Owusuaa Mensah Gyening, Lecturer at KNUST, to make this addition possible.

Dr. Rose-Mary Owusuaa Mensah Gyening recently lectured at TravelingWiki Foundation’s NeurIPS 2024 AI/ML Neurodiversity Workshop.

The foundation’s work focuses on documenting resources for non-visible disabilities at US airports, with over 40 airports documented to date.

According to Jonathan Sutter, CEO of TravelingWiki Foundation, “TravelingWiki has focused intensively on ensuring access to our resources for a global base of travelers that leverage US airports and could benefit from resources for non-visible disabilities.

We take this work very seriously, and we are committed to expanding the library of resources available for travelers at US airports.”

The TravelingWiki Foundation has also been involved in various initiatives, including collaborating with the Philadelphia Autism Project and presenting at PNC Park with the Pittsburgh Pirates to promote autism awareness and special needs awareness.
