45 Needy Students Awarded Scholarships by Relief and Aid International

Published on

Forty-five brilliant but financially needy students have been given scholarships by Relief and Aid International, a humanitarian NGO, to help them continue their education at the tertiary level.

The scholarship awards were presented at a ceremony held at the AMA Omanye Aba City Hall in Accra last Saturday. The event brought together people from different sectors including education, traditional leaders, diplomats, and civil society groups. It was held under the theme “Beyond the Aid & Unveiling the Future.”

Supporting Education Dreams

The event celebrated more than just good academic performance — it focused on how financial support can help young people achieve their dreams. At a time when many students are struggling to pay tuition fees and deal with a high cost of living, the scholarships give them a real chance to succeed.

The students are pursuing various courses such as:

  • Accounting
  • Medicine
  • Agriculture
  • Nursing
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Law
  • Political Science
  • Marketing
  • Bachelor of Science in Education

Words from the Founder

Peggy Naa Ayikailey Adamafio, the Founder and President of Relief and Aid International, said young people are the future of the country and deserve every opportunity to succeed. She highlighted that investing in education, especially in health-related areas, helps the country grow.

She called on everyone—government, businesses, and individuals—to support young people in need. “It is our civic duty to help today’s youth realise their full potential and make positive changes in their lives,” she said.

She also thanked everyone who has supported the organisation, both in Ghana and abroad.

Government Commends the Initiative

Dr Clement Apaak, Deputy Minister of Education, praised the organisation for helping the government make education more accessible to students from poor backgrounds.

He said the theme “Beyond the Aid” was a reminder that we should move from just short-term help to long-term investments in the youth. He encouraged the scholarship winners to see the support not only as a reward but as a chance to lead and help others in the future.
