Arsenal Suffers Double Blow As Saka And Sterling Sidelined With Injuries

Published on

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is facing a major challenge after confirming that Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling will miss several upcoming matches due to injuries.

Saka, a key player for the Gunners this season, was forced off just 24 minutes into Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old winger has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury and is expected to be out for “many weeks.” Saka has been crucial for Arsenal, contributing five goals and ten assists in the Premier League.

Arteta acknowledged the setback, calling it a “huge blow.” He added, “He’s obviously a big player for us. This will be a good opportunity for us to find solutions and overcome another challenge, as we’ve had to do throughout the season.”

Adding to the team’s difficulties, Raheem Sterling, on loan from Chelsea, has also been ruled out with a knee injury. Arteta mentioned that Sterling’s condition requires further evaluation but expects him to be out “for weeks.”

Arsenal, currently third in the Premier League and six points behind leaders Liverpool, will need to regroup quickly as they prepare for crucial matches against Ipswich on December 27 and Brentford on January 1.
