Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has admitted that the club is in danger of relegation if their performance does not improve soon.
Amorim made the statement following a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Monday night, marking United’s third consecutive Premier League loss.
The Red Devils are now just seven points above the relegation zone halfway through the season.
“I think that it [relegation] is a possibility, and we have to be clear with our fans,” Amorim said. “We have to change something, but this season will be really hard on everybody. It can make us stronger, and we have to fight.”
Manchester United has been a consistent presence in the top flight since their promotion to the old First Division in 1975. However, their recent struggles have raised concerns about their Premier League future.
