Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has taken aim at individuals within Marcus Rashford’s camp, blaming them for the player’s recent comments about leaving the club.
This comes after Rashford, 27, revealed in an interview with Henry Winter that he is “ready for a new challenge.”
The statement has fueled speculation about his future at the Premier League club, especially since Amorim has left him out of the last three match-day squads.
Speaking to reporters, Amorim suggested that the issue isn’t solely Rashford’s fault.
“I understand that these players have a lot of people around them, making choices that are not the first idea from the player,” Amorim told Sky Sports.
He also added saying; “I am always here to help Marcus as another player. I have to do what I have to do. They chose to do the interview as it is not just Marcus. I understand that.”
