‘Girls Trip 2’ May Relocate From Ghana to Another African Country

The highly anticipated sequel to Girls Trip may no longer be set in Ghana, according to actress Regina Hall.

Screenwriter Tracy Oliver previously revealed that Girls Trip 2 would take the four friends to Afrochella in Ghana, but Hall recently shared that the location might change.

“I heard that it may not be in Ghana actually,” Hall said in a recent interview. “They’ve since moved. But I do know it is in Africa.”

Hall hinted that South Africa could be a possible alternative due to filming logistics, but the final decision is still in progress.

The first Girls Trip (2017), starring Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Queen Latifah, was a massive hit, grossing over $115 million in North America. The sequel will follow another adventurous getaway for the group, with Kenya Barris also involved in writing the script.
