Legon Cities ended their five-game winless run in the Ghana Premier League with a dominant 3-0 win against Dreams FC in a Matchweek 17 clash at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The victory lifted the Royals off the bottom of the table for the first time in weeks. After a goalless first half, Frederick Akatuk broke the deadlock with a precise header in the 53rd minute.
Frank Akoto doubled the lead with a powerful strike in the 76th minute, and Raymond Agyemang sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time (90’+7).
This marked Legon Cities’ first win under new coach Yaw Acheampong, giving the team a vital boost in their battle against relegation.
For Dreams FC, the loss was a setback following their hard-fought victory over Accra Lions in the previous round.
Legon Cities now sit 17th, just one point behind 15th-placed Dreams FC. Next, Legon Cities will host Gold Stars, while Dreams FC will travel to Samartex as both teams aim to improve their positions in the league.
