Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially debunked claims made by Ghanaian content creator Afua Nash, whose real name is Clementina Nkrumah, about her planned attempt at a marathon eating record.
Afua Nash recently announced her goal to undertake a four-day, seven-hour, and 20-minute nonstop eating challenge, set to begin on Monday, November 11, 2024, during a live broadcast on the Savage Room show at Afropod Studios.
The announcement was shared on her Instagram page, gathering significant online attention.However, GWR clarified on Twitter that it no longer recognizes records for marathon eating events based on duration.
They explained that their guidelines now focus on speed-based records, tracking the amount of food consumed within a short period, usually capped at three minutes depending on the food type.
