As Ghana prepares for the December 7, 2024, general elections, Lieutenant Colonel Jacob Codjoe, the Commanding Officer of the Achiase Jungle Warfare Training School, has issued a stern warning to anyone planning to disrupt the process.

Speaking at a peace concert organized by the Salvation Army Church in Akyem Oda, Codjoe stressed the military’s commitment to ensuring the elections are peaceful and orderly.

“I will only intervene on December 7 within the Akyemansa area if the police ask for help,” Lt. Col. Codjoe stated. “And when I come, I won’t talk. I’ll beat you, and the hell with you. I always want people to try me.”

His warning underscores the military’s serious stance on maintaining peace during the elections. Codjoe also urged voters to cast their ballots and leave the polling stations until the vote counting begins.

He emphasized that everyone, from religious leaders to security personnel, has a responsibility to protect the peace that the country currently enjoys. “Peace is the only thing we have now, and with it, we can progress. If we destroy it, nothing can move forward,” he said.

Finally, Codjoe advised the public to return home after the results are announced, stressing that security forces would not allow anyone to disrupt the peace for the sake of a few individuals.
