Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has named Liverpool and Arsenal as the two clubs that can win the Premier League title this season.
Despite Liverpool’s recent 3-3 draw with Newcastle United, Leboeuf believes the Reds, along with Arsenal, have what it takes to claim the English top-flight league.
Leboeuf’s prediction comes as Liverpool maintains its top spot on the Premier League table, seven points ahead of second-placed Chelsea and third-placed Arsenal.
However, Leboeuf is skeptical about Manchester City’s chances, stating that they will struggle, and Chelsea’s young and inexperienced players may not be able to sustain a title challenge.
“In the title race, I still put Arsenal and Liverpool,” Leboeuf told ESPN FC. “I think City is going to struggle. I don’t have Chelsea in the title race. Only Arsenal and Liverpool for me. I want to be cautious. Arsenal can react well and if Liverpool start losing points like today [Wednesday]. Chelsea, I want to be cautious because they are still young players and the confidence can easily lose it because of the inexperience.”
