New England manager, Thomas Tuchel, has dismissed speculations about removing Harry Kane as captain of the national team.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Friday, Tuchel stated there was “no need to look at other options” for the captaincy, reaffirming his support for Kane, who is England’s all-time leading scorer.
Tuchel said:
“There’s no need at the moment to look at other options.It’s like for Harry for everyone else as well, we totally… I admire him, for his quality, for his leadership, for his character.”
Tuchel, who previously worked with Kane at Bayern Munich, praised the striker’s leadership qualities and contributions on and off the pitch.
His comments shut down rumours of a potential change in captaincy under his management.
