Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has declared a 100-day fasting and prayer period for church members to seek divine intervention for global peace and to avert a potential third World War.
Speaking at the year’s first Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Adeboye expressed concerns about escalating global conflicts, warning that a world war would impact everyone.
He urged members to pray fervently against new and ongoing wars, emphasizing the importance of intercession for peace. The fasting period will run from January 11 to April 21, 2025, with specific guidelines for older members.
Those aged 70 to 80 may break their fast at 3 p.m., while those over 80 can do so at noon. Members aged 90 and above are exempted from fasting. The first 30 days of prayer will focus on Nigeria, addressing national issues such as corruption and sabotage.
Pastor Adeboye encouraged members to join daily 6 p.m. prayer meetings and to stay spiritually focused, advising them to avoid distractions like excessive talking.
On a global scale, the prayers will also cover natural disasters like floods, storms, and wildfires. Pastor Adeboye highlighted the urgency of ensuring that existing conflicts do not escalate into a third World War.
Despite these warnings, he shared a hopeful prophecy for 2025, predicting breakthroughs, promotions, and celebrations. “The Lord says the day someone has been waiting for will happen this year,” he assured the congregation.
