Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his disappointment over the referee’s decision not to award a penalty for a foul on Vinicius Junior during his side’s 3-3 LaLiga draw against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
Vinicius was clearly brought down inside the penalty area by Muminin in the second half, but referee Martínez Munuera did not award a penalty, nor was there any warning from González Fuertes, the VAR referee.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Ancelotti said: “The penalty seemed very clear to me.”
He also praised Vinicius Junior’s performance, saying: “Vini Jr. didn’t start because he had played 90 minutes in the Champions League and after his injury we wanted him to play in the second half, where there was a bit less intensity.
Vini did well, he played well and had chances to score. He played a good game.”Real Madrid’s goals were scored by Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo.
